The interview day has begun!

He left for his interviews this morning.  He has one at 10am with the Dean (or maybe the Assistant Dean, not sure) of the College.  Then he will have approximately an hour break, then will meet with the head of the CS department for an hour, then a 2 hour session with all the faculty, including and hour of Q&A and a 50 minute lecture.  Then, he goes and teaches his UNIX class.  I suspect he will be wiped out after that, at least once the adrenaline wears out.

He looks all spiffy in his new sports coat, shirt & tie.  (thank you mom for loaning us the money!)  I did end up giving him a haircut at around 1am, right after he finished writing his lecture.  It went a lot smoother than usual because he was distracted by a phone call from Robert while I was cutting it.  Much less nerve wracking for both of us.  Then a back rub before he went to sleep so he can turn his head to the left without wincing.  I hope the muscle spasm doesn’t bother him today because that can be miserable.  I made him take an Ibuprofin before I would give him a back rub so it would help any inflammation go down.  He hates taking any meds (I am the same way), but in this case I felt like it was necessary.

I had to run to the store last night because he made the last pot of coffee and would need more this morning, so I checked in the frozen foods section to see if there was something easy and reasonably nutritious for breakfast.  I found some Jimmy Dean skillet meals…hash browns, sausage & vegetables that you add eggs to…perfect for him.  I didn’t want him to have to stop by fast food and get one of those breakfast sandwiches, there wasn’t much he would be thrilled about eating around here that wasn’t time consuming to make, and I was hoping for something with some protein and not excessive carbs or grease.

Well, since it seems like I am rambling about minutia, I will go find someplace else to put my nervous energy.  lol

Please keep praying for him.
