Taking the Scenic Route

I just returned from the 3 hour glucose party.  I had to drink orange stuff for this test and MAN it was NAS-TAY!  At the 1-hour mark, when I expressed my concern that my stomach was not handling it well, they let me stay in an exam room for the other two hours.  That was nice because I wasn’t sitting in a waiting room with nice carpeting, 2 doors away from the nearest trash can or toilet.  I also got to lay down in a darkened room, which was much nicer.  I did keep it down.  (thank goodness…I did not want to have to repeat the test).

I also had a great deal of appreciation today that I was there just taking a test.  I overheard that there was a woman 27 weeks pregnant (I am 27w 4d) who was coming in because she felt like she was going into preterm labor.  I heard my dr come in for the day shortly after my second blood draw, and soon after a woman sobbing came in from the waiting room.  A few minutes later I didn’t hear either of them, and didn’t hear my dr. come  back the last hour I was there, even though he had appointments at that time.  I suspect they went over to the adjoining hospital.  It was everything I could do to keep from crying for her.  She has to be so scared.

That would be really scary. I am glad you got to stay in an exam room. I am glad that your pregnancy is going well. That would be so scary. Hope you have a good day!

    God bless you and yours,

    Beth
