We lean towards names that have a longer, more elegant version, and a shorter nickname for daily life.  Zach & I are actually “Zachary” and “Jennifer” and like the fact that we have the versatility.  As a kid I was always “Jeni”, but I started going by “Jennifer” around college.  I can always tell when people knew me growing up, because they are the only ones who still call me by Jeni.  lol.

Yeah, we have some decisions to make before this little one makes her appearance.  We have actually managed to cut the list down quite a bit at this point, but we are really having a tough time eliminating enough names.  Can you tell?

edited to add:  made some cuts.  Adorabelle did not seem like a good idea in retrospect, and some of the others were awkward to pronounce.  Jadzia we like, but can’t get the Star Trek character out of our heads.  lol.

Looks like you just about grabbed all the “A” and “Z” names But that’s alright, she’s your baby, and you want the best. Matt and I kind of had an unfair advantage of sorts, because we had boy and girl names picked out back in September of LAST year, because we thought I might be pregnant… We liked them so much, we just kinda kept them until we found out we were pregnant, and now we are using it. I like those names though Hope you can figure one out though Hope you have a good day!

    God bless you and yours,

    Beth

Forget A to Z…you have A and Z I’m partial to Morgana myself (with my Rhiannon Morgaine over here) Helen is a reallly powerful name I think…Zelda could be short for Zerelda…good luck with finding a name! Some people don’t decide until they “meet” baby anyways and decide what’s most suitable from there, so no pressure!

Our rules for names are ones that can be pronounced and spelled correctly upon hearing it, and it should look good on a resume. Not that my opinion matters AT ALL but I like in no particular order…

Genevieve (although this one breaks my spelling rule)
Audrey (okay, this is my favorite!)
    Hazel (second favorite!)
Elizabeth (this could break the spelling rule too..I would never spell it with an ’s’ though!)

I also like the name Katherine (it’s my confirmation name actually) but there are far too many spellings.

I hope I didn’t tarnish any of these names for you guys! :D

Brodie had this rule that the name had to reflect a “certain” character when read on a resume…hmm, what does Zephyr say to you? :)

I like the idea of having a Z name and an A name, but I am partial to Zorabella and Zaida.  Hmm, can’t go wrong with Hazel I think…that is a classic.  You know, I really wanted to name Zep, Rabbit, but Brodie said, Absolutely Not!

Yep, Jadzia can’t escape a tie to Star Trek, but Zia is a nice name, IMO.
