I spent some time going over the biographies, stands on the issues and such of the candidates to vote for tomorrow. I think we are in trouble folks. The paper endorsed (in my district) the idiot who thinks that creationism should be given the same weight as evolution. Liberal media huh?!? I’d love it if the media were liberal. The city council one I am not sure who to vote for yet. Sent Zach the info and expect a discussion later on the subject. The incumbent looks pretty strong, but the opponent is a social worker with 4 kids. hmmm. Just don’t know on that one yet.
For the record, here is my stand in a nutshell on evolution vs creation in the schools debate.
I believe God created the world. There isn’t a doubt in my mind. It is an issue of faith (which is why it is called ‘faith’, not ‘proof’) I believe that God created the earth using the methods science describes. I think the intricacy is pretty cool too! However, I do not want my child learning about creationism in school, especially since there is a different theory of creation for every religion out there…if we let in the Christian creationism, you are going to have to let in all the other ones too. I don’t think ANY faith based theory belongs in a science class. Literature class….I can live with that, but science, NO.
