‘mates

#184:  ‘mates

We had fun. Yesterday she brought a selection of Italian meats and cheeses, and today we had Lox and Bagels with all the fixin’s. YUMMY! We spend most of the day going between talking, looking at pictures and videos and playing with the kids.

Grandma Zee and the Wii

Zane was thrilled with the cherries Grandma brought and quickly went to work pitting them.

Grandma Zandra here! (and many more photos)

#182: Grandma Zandra here! As usual when this side of the family gets together, the day includes standing around playing music. When Zach brought out his dad’s accordion, Zora ran downstairs and retrieved her drum to play along. It was a ball.

and, naturally, there are many more than just the one “photo of the day”

Zora brings her alphabet puzzle to play with.

Looking at pictures

Zane warms up and gives Grandma a big hug

Such beauty

Enjoying the visit.

Connecting

Zach brings out his dad’s accordian. His mom and dad used to spend a lot of time playing music together, and his mom was thrilled when Zach played “Blue Moon” for her, just like his dad used to.

Zora finds a cozy spot in the accordian case for her mad drumming skillz.

Zane joins the celebration

Flowers from the Farm.

#179: Flowers from the Farm. Mom and Dad came to town, we went to Sams together, then out to eat, then they were convinced to come to our house by Zora who said she would sing (and then got too shy to do so). Mom brought up some flowers and I set them on the counter. After they left, I was going to get a vase for them and saw them sitting there in the only beam of light coming from the blinds and grabbed the camera.

Rock Band!

#178:  Rock Band! Robert won a Rock Band package, but has no Wii, and we have no Rock Band, so he brought it over with his kids and we played it for a few hours. Zora didn’t really want to sing the songs in the game, but in between “sets” she picked up the microphone and started singing her own ditty.

And some more pictures from the afternoon…

Potty SUCCESS!

#177: Potty SUCCESS! She had one little tinkle a while ago, but nothing since. This day, for whatever reason, she decided she would use the potty. She wore undies all day and after a few misses, she finally made it on time. YAY! She was quite pleased with herself too.

Box Seats

#175: Box Seats. I am not sure what the story line was, but the king and queen were in the seats with the other people, watching a knight and a penguin salt shaker have a conversation.

  • We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies. — Martin Luther King Jr
