Some prayers for my neighbor gal please.  She is in the emergency room.  She probably should have gone a few days ago because she has been in such horrible pain.  Her Dr. couldn’t get in to see her and finally today it got overwhelming.  It is probably something to do with ovarian cysts, and her stomach has been distended for a few days already.  She is only 21, but she has 2 kids and tied her tubes after the birth of the last one.  She is hoping for a hysterectomy so she doesn’t have to deal with this any more.  I am not sure that a hysterectomy on a 21yo is a great idea if there are other ways to solve it, but I pray she gets some relief soon and can be at peace with what ever decision she has to make.

Update:  She is back from an 8 hour ER trip.  She is still in a lot of pain, but is medicated to take the edge off.  She has one cyst on her ovary that is larger than her ovary, and they think the one on her other ovary might have burst.  She had several sonograms and a really bitchy ER Dr.  She goes to see her OB/GYN tomorrow about a possible hysterectomy.  I hope her pain meds hold for the night and she is able to get help, whatever that may be, quickly tomorrow.

Just stopped by to check out your site and saw that you are 21 weeks and 2 days pregnant…I’m 21 weeks and 1 day pregnant! How funny. I hope that all is going well with your pregnancy! :-)

I hope your neighbour will be alright.

Thanks for the advice on Cam, I worry about him so much, he has had to deal with so much in his short life and I want the best for him.

I loved the “poor” list, 5 years ago I was a single mom trying to raise two kids on a fast food joint salary.  10 years ago, I had to steal from the grocery store when I hadn’t eaten in days, so I know the pain of not having anything and I get so angry when people lay blame on the folks in NO for not leaving.

I hope she is alright.  I also think that the hysterectomy would be an extreme route to take, but I know that many doctors don’t even pursue other options because of the ease of the hysterectomy (for them atleast).  I had a cyst on a ovary burst when I was 17 and I know what pain she is in.  Hope it goes well tomorrow.

I lived in San Diego proper (La Jolla?  So ritzy :)  I worked at the Juice Club in Hillcrest and Jimbo’s Healthfood store.  I went to San Diego City College, How did you end up there?

Hey! I hope your neighbor girl is alright. I went in to the ER in March/April for abdominal pain, and they said I have multiple cysts on my ovaries. Not big ones, but I know how painful little ones can be when they burst, so I can only imagine how it must hurt with big ones. I hope she is alright. Have a good day.

    God bless you and yours,

    Beth
