project365 catch-up: #12-28 (AAAAHHHHHH)
#13 “So….when does mommy get a break?”

#14 “School Prep 1: decisions” I gave Zane the prompt words and let him choose what color “matched” it and I needed to take a picture so that I knew which color went with each word in case my stack got messed up. (Zach just wanted me to avoid a “rainbow” look since I plan on making him a bracelet to wear in the same colors so that he can have the visual clue for describing things) BTW, the curriculum this originates from is “Visualizing and Verbalizing”

#15 “A relaxed evening on Facebook”

#16 “School Prep 2: the first phase of the finished product” (still want to make bean bags and a bracelet, but not right away)

#17 “Grandma time” Mom came over to watch the kids while we went out for my birthday. We never made it to the movie we were planning, but lingered over lunch at Olive Garden, then a bookstore, then we realized we weren’t going to make the movie in time so we went grocery shopping. lol.

#18 “Counting the Days” (the abacus in the schoolroom)

#19 “A Wicked Good Read” I LOVE the genre where they have classic, well-known stories but flip the protaganist and antagonist. This is “The Wizard of Oz” from the witch’s perspective.

#20 “Watching History” Obama’s inaguration took place right after Speech Therapy, and since Zora and Zane were engaged playing, I decided to amble over to the TV in the other waiting room so I could watch with the group gathered there while the kids played. (an interesting note: before we started therapy here, I would have NEVER been able to let Zane play at a distance in public, EVER.) It was fun watching with a group of people and hear their commentary too. Taken with my phone camera.

#21 “School Prep 3: working on the visual schedule”

#22 “Can we go out Mama?” I wish the picture where she completed the ensemble with sparkle shoes and a pink and purple boa would have been more than a big blur so that you could have the full imact of her fashion choices.

#23 “The Workers” Zora wanted to be a part of the action when Zach was helping Robert get started on a work project. (Zach got Robert a contracting job at his company)

#24 “School Prep 4: visual schedule ready to go”

#25 “The project: Finished.” A giant task board thingy. Each of the little key tags has a single task on it, and when you complete it, you flip it over to show a happy face sticker. For the kids, it includes a lot of self-care things and the beginnings of chores (some are “cook/laundry/cleaning helper”, some are really simple jobs) and the “enrichment” things for homeschool, like “Science Experiment” or “Art Project” or “Music”, depending on what we are doing that day…and “School” for when we go downstairs and hit the skill based things that the visual schedule is used for.

#26 “Investigating Snow” Our school theme this week was “Snow”, but the forecasted snow was more like snow dandruff on Monday. You could kind of see the flakes on the BBQ grill cover, but they were small, broken up flakes.

#27 “This is a little more like it” It snowed, not a lot, but enough to get some really nice flakes. YEAH!

#28 “Car Shaped Snow” The sun came out and melted off the snow, but the shadows were still cool enough to slow down the melt.

cool photos – nice closeups. especially liked the car shadow pic
