Halloween

Today didn’t go quite like planned.  We planned to go to the mall because they do an annual trick-or-treat there.  Unfortunatly, we didn’t see that the trick-or-treat was last night instead of tonight.  So were all the other Halloween events, at least the kid-friendly events.  I was sort of ticked….today is Halloween…why on earth are all the events the day before Halloween.  That is just plain stupid.  So, that meant that there was no place to take him unless we felt like going door to door, which we didn’t.  So, we let him wear his costume and went to the playground. Zane had fun.  I am glad he wasn’t old enough to anticipate the festivities.  Halloween isn’t a very important holiday to me, but it still sort of ticks me off that this community decided to mess up the holiday.

Anyway, Zane had fun.  We walked to the playground and played for a while, found some pinecones, and then played in some leaves.  Zane kept loosing his hat, but unlike a year ago when we could hardly get him to wear a hat, this year he kept getting concerned when it fell off and put it back on himself.  The thing fit more like a beanie than a hat.  lol.  A little Yamuke pumpkin hat.  hee hee.

Daddy put the hat on when it fell off one time.  In this picture Zane is shaking his head “No” and giggling as he tries to get the hat back from Daddy.

How cute is that? Dad looks like a great playmate.

Zane is so proud of his pumpkin outfit. He LOVES hats this year. I remember how he pulled them off as quickly as you put them on just a few months ago.

His daddy IS really terrific with Zane. They are so cute together. They absolutely adore each other. You can see it in their eyes.

  • Homeschool parent’s primer:

Anyone who is more attentive to their child than I am is a “hover mother”.

Anyone who is less attentive is selfish and neglectful.

Anyone who imposes more rules on kids than we do is rigid and power tripping.

Anyone who imposes less is spoiling the kids and being a doormat.

Any homeschoolers who use more structure and curriculum than we do are control freaks.

Any who use less are irresponsible.

Any kid older than mine is “old enough to know better”.

Until mine is that age, then “he’s just too little to know better”.
