Taking the Scenic Route

Remember that job we have been hoping for recently?  The one they said that they were really happy with him but couldn’t hire him?  Today there was a news story…they are laying off thousands of people.  I guess it is good we didn’t get all excited to get a job just to lose it a week or two later.  I wonder if they actually hired for the job or if they got the word before and just didn’t hire anybody.  Still disappointing, but at least it makes more sense now.
