My husband, getting his geek on

He was working with some code, trying to make it do something it was never intended to do and this is his email: “When making this software sing a tune that it was never designed to sing, I have found the logic quite complex behind the commonly expected results. Buy me an amp. I’m about to make this rock.”

Whoops!

I normally just go to the admin pages of my blog, without visiting the “public view” of my site.  I was a little confused as to why I hadn’t gotten any comments for quite a while, until I discovered, much to my embarrassment, that I have the default set as “unpublished” instead of “published” now.  Not sure how that happened, but I do know that I wasn’t looking for it, so it didn’t get done.  So, I had to go back and “publish” a whole host of posts.  duh.

So, for those of you that like to read in order, go back a few pages until you find the post after “project365 #135-139″ and start there.

We are playing heathens today

Got early to get ready for church and realized we were kidding ourselves. The kids, especially Zora, are sick. It explains why her behavior was so horrid yesterday. Zane fell back asleep, which is a bit unusual for him too, so I suspect he isn’t feeling any better. Zora is snuggled up next to Zach, who said her breathing is congested enough to be a little disturbing to him. We both have coughs and don’t feel great either, but I think the kids feel worse. I was in denial because I REALLY wanted to get them to church because Christmas Pagent rehearsals start this morning. blah.

So, I actually have a few minutes to post on this morn. I thought I would share two funny links. One, a “geek card quiz” that Zach filled out. He said he got 42-43 of them, only missing the things that involved an ipod/iphone and wii, and I could add “can’t do them yet” because we don’t have ipods, and the wii is hidden away for Christmas and hasn’t even been opened yet. lol.

The other is an online game Super Obama World. It is a take off from the old school Mario World and has Obama getting little flags instead of coins and jumping over pigs, pitbulls in lipstick and little guys in suits instead of Goombas and Koopas. Alaska is first level world. Zach is playing it now to make sure it doesn’t have anything inappropriate for kids. On the second level there is a “bridge to nowhere”. lol.  (will update if there are issues with being kid friendly, but so far, it is just funny)

Harvest at the Farm, part 3 (end of series)

When Zach and I pulled up to the farm after work, we saw the grader going down the drive and laughed. The kids talked Grandpa into a grader ride too. We found out later that Zane had also been in the backhoe and moved a lever and some residual hydraulic pressure caused the bucket to move just a little…he was thrilled. (the backhoe was off). They had also ridden on the 4 wheeler with Grandpa a bit too. (He goes really, really slowly)

The bike is turned off here, but mom got a great picture that shows one of the interesting ways he contorts and balances on top of things.

Steve’s truck was there when we pulled onto the farmstead, but he was in town dropping a load off at the grain elevator, but the kids were starving (ok, so were the adults), so we sat down to a great supper of roast, potatoes & carrots. He came in to eat after a while, then the two guys headed out to keep working, each on a different combine.

The kids goofed off for about an hour before heading home.
Zora occupied herself by giving the cat a ride in the wagon, loading the goose and goslings (garden decorations I used to play with at my grandparent’s house) in with the cat, and then trying to feed the cat.

Zane was “digging for treasure”, and specified “gold”. He made a pretty decent size hole too.

Zora checking things out and wanting to “help”

A beautiful, full day.

Zach…since I don’t want to call you

Just thought I would let you know I am going to search for some German sock yarn. You don’t need to come home for lunch if you don’t want to. I will be back by 2 or 3 at the latest so if you get off work earlier I will be home. Love you!
